10 Times AEW's Cody Rhodes Broke The Internet
9. The List
If you needed more evidence that Cody leaving WWE wasn't a snap decision, all we can say is look to the list.
Cody departed WWE with a clearly laid-out list of dream matches featuring opponents ranging from Adam Cole and Roderick Strong to Pat Buck and Katsuyori Shibata. His list also included a few desired accomplishments, namely having his own personal ring announcer and "the streamers thing".
Cody's list sent the internet into a frenzy as fans delighted in predicting where he might turn up next. We also revelled in his newfound freedom. Liberated from the shackles of WWE booking, Cody could finally chart his own path. The world was truly his oyster.
In just over four years, Cody's managed to mark several names off his list, including Kurt Angle, Moose, and Dalton Castle. And those accomplishments? It was a squash, mate. Cody scored a quick twofer when his wife Brandi acted as his personal ring announcer at PWG's BOLA 2016, and he even got his streamers spot after winning the ROH World Championship in 2017. Not too shabby. Save some goals for the rest of us, Cody...
