10 Times AJ Styles Has Already Fought WWE Stars

7. R-Truth

Although he has been back in WWE for almost a decade now (eight years in total), it is easy to forget that when TNA started out R-Truth was positioned as one of the top heels in the company. Going by his real name of Ron Killings, Truth became the first (and only) recognised Africa-American NWA Heavyweight Champion fairly quickly into his TNA run. Styles was a cocky upstart heel at the time, managed by the frankly ridiculous Mortimer Plumtree. After dominating the X-Division in the early days, Styles would go on to face Killings at the 27th weekly pay-per-view put on by TNA, although by then Killings had lost the title to Jeff Jarrett. The match, whilst by no means a classic, shows that when motivated and serious Truth can put on a more than decent match. Styles is Styles, of course. AJ picked up the W after interference from David Flair and a mysterious burlap sack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6GqRUpGONA

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
