A great WrestleMania match or the greatest WrestleMania match? That's for you to decide, though 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and Bret Hart's famous double turn bout is a universally revered submission match elevated, again, by its blood and guts.

Hart and Austin broke this classic down on the most recent episode of Broken Skull Sessions. A timeless masterpiece that not only cemented 'The Hitman' as a heel while pushing 'The Texas Rattlesnake' towards monster babyface territory, it was a wild, unruly fight that felt as close to legitimate pugilism as was possible in the WWE of the '90s. The guys fought like they were trying to end each other. Truly, a classic.

'Stone Cold' trapped in the match-ending Sharpshooter with nowhere to go is one of the most iconic images in company history. Austin's agonised screams as Hart wrenched out what little life remained in him played out like a torture scene, elevated by the blood flowing from Steve's forehead. A memorable conclusion without the sanguine? Perhaps, and it would've likely still had the desired effect, but the colour made it perfect.
