10 Times Blood & Guts Made Wrestling AWESOME

6. The Age Of The Fall (ROH Man Up)

Our most obscure moment comes from Ring of Honor's peak period, as the Age of the Fall was born at the end of the Man Up show in September 2007.

The Briscoe Brothers had just emerged triumphant over Kevin Steen and El Generico in a brutal Ladder War. The match could have earned a spot on this list alone, such was its brutality, but what followed was so shocking that ROH omitted it from the pay-per-view feed, only releasing the footage on their YouTube channel and through a "blood edit" on the Man Up DVD.

A bleeding Jay Briscoe was hung from the equipment used to dangle the Tag Team Championships above the ring in the bout, his plasma dripping down onto Jimmy Jacobs' pristine white clothes. Drenched in Briscoe's juice, Jacobs, Tyler Black (Seth Rollins), and Necro Butcher declared that the Age of the Fall had begun, the blood even landing in Jimmy's mouth at one point. Eww. The stable's opening visuals couldn't have been harsher.

The Age of the Fall became a menacing ROH force soon after, with Brodie Lee, Joey Matthews, and more all passing through their ranks.
