10 Times Chris Jericho Has Put Over Fresh Talent

8. Shelton Benjamin (2004)

Benjamin was imbued with a stunning victory over Triple H in March 2004, kicking off his singles tenure on the Raw brand with an immediate impact. After failing to capture the Intercontinental title from Randy Orton at Bad Blood, things cooled off a bit for Benjamin, until he was voted into the Intercontinental title match at the inaugural Taboo Tuesday in October 2004. Jericho was champion at the time, and wasn't even sure until the vote was announced whether or not he'd be dropping the strap. After being informed in the ring that Benjamin was winning the belt, Jericho largely improvised his match with the former amateur wrestling machine, putting him over cleanly with Benjamin's T-bone suplex. Months later, Jericho once more put over Benjamin in a title match at Backlash.
