More than any other rivalry, Raven and Tommy Dreamer is probably the defining feud of ECW's history and it was all over a girl. Beulah McGillicutty was the "fat girl at camp" who pretty-boy Tommy had rejected and had sided with Raven. Over the course of the angle, Beulah dropped Raven and went with Tommy, claiming to be pregnant. She was replaced with Kimona Wanalaya, but she quickly dumped Raven as well and sided with Shane Douglas. When Douglas faced Raven for the ECW Championship, he dropped a bombshell on the ECW crowd. Not only was Beulah not pregnant, while Beulah was cheating on Raven with Tommy, she was also cheating on Tommy with Kimona. Beulah then came out to the ring and writhed around on the mat making out. This was far too much for television stations and advertisers to handle at the time, and even though the kiss never made it to TV, it was still too controversial and according to Tommy Dreamer on Paul Heyman's new documentary DVD, it got them thrown of every single network they were on. While homosexual representation is important in all forms of media, this stunt was crass and exploitative. It wasn't about the lesbian couple, it was for the heterosexual 18-35 year old male ECW audience to salivate over.
