10 Times Imitation Was Not The Sincerest Form Of Flattery In Wrestling

7. The nWo Parody The Four Horsemen

Ric Flair and Arn Anderson (in particular) were said to be full of rage upon seeing the nWo make light of Ric's tendency to turn on the waterworks and Arn's alcohol problems. The segment, airing on the September 1, 1997 episode of Monday Nitro, is undeniably hilarious when viewed in isolation.

As funny as all this goofiness was though, Kevin Nash, Syxx, Buff Bagwell and Konnan were not out to make The Four Horsemen look strong. Talk about counterproductive; the nWo were supposed to be feuding with Flair and company, so it was a bit silly to palm their chief rivals off as over-the-hill and over-emotional alcoholics who didn't have a hope.

When asked about the skit, Flair has always said his number one problem with it was WCW's failure to book any comeuppance. Never coming out to defend their honour, the Horsemen had to sit in the back as Nash and pals made them look foolish.

Funny, but definitely far from flattering.
