10 Times Kevin Nash Was The Absolute Best

7. Good Friends, Better Enemies

Diesel Rey Mysterio
WWE

Against the glorious neon of the New Generation, the No Holds Barred match between Diesel and Shawn Michaels ensured that the bright white house set wasn't lurid enough to penetrate the violent darkness of two best friends using a wrestling match to say goodbye.

Cathartic compared to 'HBK's over-thought and dry WrestleMania victory over Bret Hart, this was just about everything that crowning wasn't. Chaos, but intricately crafted, The carefully, the edginess Michaels behind the scenes could be felt in front of the camera. And yet again Diesel was proving himself a magnificent dance partner as long as he had somebody with him to lead.

A blistering 1990s brawl went into overdrive when Diesel callously drove his former best friend through the commentary table. The Champion was covered in the mess that should come from this sort of spot - in contrast to the careful cleaning that goes on now - before Diesel's stealing of Mad Dog Vachon's prosthetic foot for the final blow was used against him by his gallant former partner.

'Big Daddy Cool' was going to make more money than Shawn could see as a 1996 WWE Champion, but he'd just done everything he could to make the 'Heartbreak Kid' a proven draw in his absence.
