10 Times Kevin Nash Was The Absolute Best
6. The First True Tweener
...in WWE, at lest.
Staring a hole through Vince McMahon as the representative of the 'corporate suits' just 24 hours after the aforementioned Survivor Series stack-blowing, Diesel's character turned a corner for the first time since the company forced it in a different direction the prior year.
Referencing an infamous magazine cover that had 'Big Daddy Cool' grinning ear-to-ear shortly after first winning the title against Bob Backlund at the end of 1994, Nash blamed the suffocating corporate restrictions placed on him, noting that he was about to go back to doing the things that had gotten him so over in the first place.
The attack on Bret (and verbal jabs at babyface announcer Vince McMahon) were all heel, but Diesel put a finer point on this strange new persona. The seven-footer stayed close with Shawn Michaels on-screen, going as far as to mingle with him backstage then fight Owen Hart at December's In Your House in his honour.
He'd also acknowledge the crowd...if they purchased his black glove and bolstered his merch money.
