4. The Rock - WrestleMania XXX
Even before WrestleMania 29, there were rumors swirling that WWE had decided on a main event for WrestleMania XXX - The Rock, arguably the top star in Hollywood, was to take on Brock Lesnar, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion. It was the biggest match, at least on paper, that the company could produce, and higher-ups hoped it would lead to record numbers for the New Orleans show. Though there wasn't any concrete buildup for the bout, WWE had dropped hints that the two men were going to face off in the future. Lesnar returned to WWE on the Raw the night after WrestleMania 28, where it was reported earlier in the show that The Rock had been attacked backstage. During the buildup to the Triple H/Lesnar match at WrestleMania 29, "The Beast" visited WWE headquarters to demolish HHH's office, but paused for a moment to sneer at a Royal Rumble poster featuring "The Great One." At WrestleMania 29, though, The Rock was injured in his match with John Cena. Forced to undergo surgery for torn abdominal and adductor tendons, The Rock then had to delay filming on Hercules. The postponement cost the studio millions of dollars, and The Rock was forced to reconsider his competitive schedule in order to prevent similar problems in the future. In the end, he didn't compete at WrestleMania XXX.
