4. Speaking To Shane’s Family At Survivor Series
If you thought that last entry was a feel-good story, next we have an even more heart-warming reason for Orton breaking character.
It comes from Survivor Series 2016, just moments after Shane McMahon had taken a nasty-looking bump and had clearly been knocked for six. Thinking on his feet, and with Shane being attended to by doctors in the ring, Orton made a beeline for Shane’s family, sitting at ringside, to reassure them that everything was okay.
Ultimately, that proved to be the case, as Shane was eventually back on his feet and back on television just two days later. But safe to say that the sight of doctors descending on the ring can’t have been a welcome one for Shane’s young sons, so this was a super classy move on the part of Orton.
Later, on Twitter, Orton reminded us that as a father himself, he knows what it’s like to have your kids at ringside when something goes wrong, hence why he stepped up to the plate at Survivor Series.
