10 Times The Past Buried WWE's Future

4. DX Bury The Revival

FTR are quite rightly considered one of the greatest tag teams of this (or any) generation. Their no-nonsense brand of hard-hitting, smash-mouth technical wrestling has been a joy since the pair rose to prominence in NXT as The Revival. The former Dawson and Dash were never quite as revered as they should have been on WWE's main roster, and they were yet another victim of WWE's old boys club.

Monday Night Raw's 25th anniversary was a big deal, with D-Generation X getting back together for their usual schtick. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg, and Billy Gunn were even joined by Scott Hall, with Finn Balor, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson joining the party to throw up their Too Sweets for a seal of approval.

There was no such friendship for The Revival. Dawson and Dash were thrown to the old folks home, taking multiple finishers from all of the legends of yesteryear for nothing more than cheap cheers. This spot is fine if WWE used a comedy character or a team they have no plans for in this spot, but to feed The Revival to a bunch of old timers who were certain to leave our screens after one night of glory was an absolute travesty.
