21-1.

The result that shocked the wrestling world more than anything else this decade. WWE and UFC superstar Brock Lesnar did the unthinkable when he F5’d Undertaker’s legendary streak right out the window.

Many had pondered who would eventually beat The Deadman and theories of rising stars such as one of the members of The Shield, Bray Wyatt or even Ryback had circulated. New generation talents that could benefit immensely from the rub.

Instead, WWE played it safe with an already well established, credible talent who already had enough on his resume to stand out as a main event star. Lesnar would go on to have several part time world title reigns with each received more negatively than the one before it.

The Undertaker meanwhile has had nonsensical Wrestlemania feuds with Bray Wyatt, Shane McMahon, Roman Reigns (in which Taker seemingly faked a retirement angle) and John Cena.

Lesnar did not need the streak accolade, especially given his unwieldy and sporadic schedule. The Undertaker meanwhile has lost much of his star power since the death of the streak and is barely over as a nostalgia act these days.

In the 5 years since, WWE have continued to fail to create new, legitimate main event stars and the Deadman’s streak could’ve helped that issue a great deal.
