10 Times TNA Succeeded Where WWE Failed

8. Scott Steiner

The Scott Steiner of latter day WCW was the ultimate badass of wrestling. Sadly, when he entered WWE, it was quickly evident that that wasn’t going to be the case with Triple H around. While his initial debut was met with huge excitement, by the time he stepped into the ring with 'The Game' at Royal Rumble ‘03, Steiner was exposed and a far cry from the “Big Bad Booty Daddy” of WCW.

Truthfully, Scotty was suffering from drop foot syndrome at the time, with severe nerve damage in his foot, leaving it virtually numb. Meanwhile, Triple H was also coming off a partially torn quad in late 2002, which didn’t help matters. Instead of protecting Steiner, they placed him in an impossible situation, which ultimately resulted in a steep decline for WCW’s last big star.

When Steiner arrived in TNA in 2006, he was a new man. With his razor tongue re-sharpened and his head in the game, Steiner became an asset to TNA and did a lot to get over younger talent, from Petey Williams to Samoa Joe. Steiner performed better than anyone predicted and regularly had the Impact Zone in awe, as he began to dust off his tricks from yesteryear, including the Top Rope Frankensteiner and the Steiner Screwdriver.
