10 Times Triple H Ripped Off Ideas

4. D-Generation X (The NWO)

Though they'd probably argue otherwise, there's no questioning the fact that there wouldn't have been a D-Generation X were it not for a certain other team of miscreants over on WCW Nitro.

As the likes of Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall took the wrestling world by storm with their reckless, care-free antics and outrageous behaviour on TV, WWE were in desperate need of a rule-breaking faction of their own to swing the ratings back in their favour.

Allowing Triple H and Shawn Michaels to follow in the footsteps of their old buddies over on Nitro, Vince McMahon, somewhat reluctantly, shepherded the creation of D-Generation X. Sure, Michaels and Trips leant into childish, innuendo based humour a touch more than their black and white renegade rivals, but the comparisons between the two anti-establishment units were there for all to see.

To this day former WCW President Eric Bischoff is 100% certain that DX were a copy of the highly successful nWo, stating on his 83 Weeks podcast recently, “It should be pretty obvious that it was."

Has Trips ever actually had a gimmick that wasn't used elsewhere? Well...
