10 Times Vince McMahon Humiliated WWE Champions

1. 'Screwing' Bret Hart At The Survivor Series (1997)

The most classic example of a career killing move happened at the 1997 Survivor Series event. Most pro wrestling fans know the story, Bret Hart was screwed out of the WWF Heavyweight Title. Conspiring against him were Shawn Michaels, referee Earl Hebner and Vince McMahon. That event would prove to be Hart's last WWF/WWE appearance for many years. Sadly, it was also the night on which he apparently lost his heart (no pun intended) for the wrestling industry. Bret had planned to head to WCW, see out his 3-year contract, then return home to spend time with his family a very wealthy man. He still went to WCW, but he was completely ineffective, a shadow of the performer he had been previously. The 'Montreal Screwjob' can be blamed for that. Admittedly, WCW didn't seem to have a clue how to use Hart, but he himself didn't seem all too interested any longer. That final WWF Heavyweight Title run from SummerSlam 1997 until the Survivor Series that same year would prove to be Hart's last great title tenure. Vince McMahon clearly hurt the wrestler badly, choosing to screw him out of the belt in the worst way possible and humiliating him in the process.
