10 Times Vince McMahon Shook Things Up In WWE

1. Embraced 'Attitude'

Wwf Attitude Fans Looking back to the mid-90's, the then-WWF was fairly directionless. There was little to suggest that McMahon knew what his audience wanted to see, and the result was that many fans started to tune out. Something fresh was needed, a new mind set, and that's what the 'Attitude Era' was there for. Showing an altogether more cocksure approach, the WWF started to become a different place when gimmicks such as D-Generation X, The Rock and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin were given more focus. In 1996, the company was a safe, relatively lifeless wrestling promotion, but just a few short years later, Vince and his band of merry men and women had turned things upside down. Suddenly, by 1998, everyone wanted a piece of the WWF, and the company even started to rival brands outside of the wrestling bubble, such as South Park and The Simpsons. 'WWF Attitude' was big business, and was a remarkable shift in philosophy for the previously-family friendly World Wrestling Federation.
