1. Bret Hart Punches Vince, Immediately Following Survivor Series 1997
When Kevin Wacholz got physical with Vince McMahon, it was career suicide and lasted a matter of seconds. When Bret Hart floored the WWF owner with one punch, it was the opposite, the effects of which are still felt today. Over the course of one year, the relationship between Bret Hart and Vince McMahon had devolved into a meticulously played chess-game by both parties. After years of having the upper hand in the relationship, Vince McMahon panicked the minute that the pendulum turned in the favor of the talent. It is believed by many that McMahon began thinking about how to reverse the roles the minute he put pen to paper on Bret's contract. So when the main event of the 1997 Survivor Series concluded and Bret found himself on the losing end following the infamous Montreal Screwjob, he made one last move that brought him a small piece of satisfaction: he knocked the boss out! Vince, along with his closest confidants, walked into the locker room where Bret was showering, and prepared to face the music. After several fair warnings by the Hitman to Vince's entourage, Bret exited the shower and engaged in a verbal confrontation with Vince McMahon. Before long, Bret and Vince locked-up, not unlike the beginning of a pro-wrestling match, and seconds later Bret leveled McMahon with a right-hand uppercut that knocked him clean out. Although there would be more that would unfold in the Vince vs. Bret story before it would come to an end, on the night of the Montreal Screwjob, Bret actually got the last laugh.
