During the “ECW Invasion” angle of 1997, Scott Levy made his return to the WWF for the first time in three years; however, the man who returned was a much different animal than the Johnny Polo character he had portrayed there before.

Having undergone a dramatic personality change on-screen, Levy had achieved his biggest career success to date under the tortured guise of Raven, winning the ECW Championship in the process. When he made his one-night homecoming to the WWF in ’97, Raven would appear mid-match during a bout between Little Guido and Stevie Richards.

The crowd was visibly littered with ECW and bWo shirts and the pro-ECW crowd recognised the champ immediately. Without taking part in the action himself, the cameo by Raven was fleeting yet ominous as he made his presence known by standing over Stevie as he lay on the outside, striking his trademark pose before making his exit.

Regardless of the brevity, the flying visit by Raven made for an interesting footnote in wrestling history, punctuated by the fact that he had the ECW Championship around his waist the entire time, all in all providing some noteworthy viewing looking back on it today.
