When Drew Galloway resurfaced on WWE TV at NXT TakeOver: Orlando, the Scot had come a long way from the man he was when he left, trading the air guitars of the 3MB stable for championship gold across the globe - including What Culture Pro Wrestling.

At the time of his NXT appearance, Galloway was still reigning WCPW Champion and, even more incredibly, had defended the title against WCPW regular Rampage that same afternoon at WCPW State Of Emergency. Unlike the Del Rio scenario, WWE gave Galloway permission to finish out his prior commitments.

As such, it was decided that Galloway would defend his WCPW Title in a 30-man elimination style Rumble match set to take place at the very next iPPV event later that month, WCPW No Regrets. The defending champ would face an uphill struggle, entering the match at number one before eventually falling just short of victory as the 28th man eliminated.

The match was eventually won by WCPW fan favourite, Martin Kirby, to the insane delight of the crowd; meanwhile, ex-champ Galloway would appear once more for WCPW in a losing effort to Cody Rhodes as part of a Pro Wrestling World Cup qualifying match.

Galloway (now once again billed as Drew McIntyre) made his in-ring debut as an exclusive member of the NXT roster just days later.
