10 Times Wrestlers Couldn’t Hide What They Were Doing

8. The Undertaker Tombstones Batista By Request - Bragging Rights 2009

Stone Cold Steve Austin
WWE

The Undertaker and Batista were extremely familiar with one another ahead of 2009's Bragging Rights fatal four-way World Heavyweight Championship battle, having engaged in an attritional feud for the ages between 2007 and 2008. The bond forged over this time presumably helped when things went a little awry at the climax of the clash.

Hard to spot since seemingly being sweetened on the Network version, there's a clear moment where, post-chokeslam, 'The Deadman' asked 'The Animal' if he was okay. Batista's "No" is followed by a "hit me with a Tombstone" which, fortunately, appeared to be part of the finish and allowed for the planned post-match to still go ahead.

And good too - Batista violently turned heel on friend Rey Mysterio after 'The Biggest Little Man' did much in the multi-man match to stop Big Dave getting the win. If Batista was suffering from anything serious, he was masking it well. His menace before and during the beatdown was one of the more fondly remembered moments from an othewrwise unremarkable year.
