The numbers game has always favored the tag team wrestlers on most occasions whenever they found themselves in a two vs. one situation, and this incident is no different as Ken Shamrock found himself on the receiving end of a real-life beatdown at the hands of The Nasty Boys.

The incident happened while the three wrestlers were part of an independent promotion called South Atlantic Pro Wrestling in 1990. Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags went to a local bar after an event, and Ken Shamrock was also there with his friend and the latter's girlfriend.

Ken Shamrock recalled the incident during an interview and stated that The Nasty Boys got touchy with his friend's partner, and when Shamrock got up to fight, the bouncers intervened and restrained the latter before kicking out Sags and Knobbs. However, Shamrock was irate after the incident and wanted to take things into his own hands.

Shamrock stated that he went to The Nasty Boys' hotel room and kicked the door down, but Sags knocked him down with a phone that had a metal plate underneath and started attacking him. They reportedly broke Shamrock's sternum and nose and tried to toss him out of the railing from the second floor before the others stopped them.

Shamrock was fortunate to escape the situation without enduring further damage, and he revealed that the paramedics had to revive him after he passed out and that it took him months to recover.
