10 Times Wrestlers Had Their Title Belts STOLEN
2. WALTER's NXT UK Title Gets Stolen
It generally isn't a good idea to steal things from a guy capable of caving in your entire ribcage with a single chop, but December 2019 saw somebody with no sense of self-preservation snatch WALTER's WWE United Kingdom Championship as well as his passport.
Per PWInsider's Mike Johnson, the incident went down in Chicago. The items were taken from WALTER's rental car at the same time Timothy Thatcher's vehicle was broken into, as the two prepared to wrestle for EVOLVE later that evening. Ultimately, WWE had to have a new belt made for the towering Austrian.
Perhaps they would have done that anyway, given that January 2020 saw the belt rebranded from the WWE UK Title to the NXT UK Title.
Earlier this year, WALTER told Inside the Ropes' Gary Cassidy that the original belt and his passport were never returned to him, meaning he had to fly back to Europe with an emergency passport from the Austrian embassy. Fortunately, a TikTok user ended up, buying the belt, returning it to WWE, and receiving a signed replica title as a thank you.
