10 Times Wrestlers Were Embarrassed On Live TV (That You Totally Forgot About)
9. A Heights-Fearing Enzo Amore Is Put In A Shark Cage
Shark Cages are often utilised in wrestling matches as a way of keeping an annoying manager or another wrestler from intervening in the action below. However, on some occasions, they're simply used to embarrass and mortify a star who has brassed off the wrong people backstage.
You'll no doubt be stunned to hear that Enzo Amore was on the receiving end of this unique form of on-air punishment when SummerSlam rolled around in 2017. The loud-mouth lightweight had reportedly p*ssed off various stars with his arrogant and cocky demeanour behind-the-scenes, resembling the insufferable character he played on-screen when conducting himself around his colleagues.
So, WWE decided to teach him a lesson he wouldn't forget in a hurry by locking him inside of the aforementioned cage suspended high in the air, a punishment that was likely exacerbated by his debilitating fear of heights.
This punishment also came hot on the heels of the company claiming they had no plans to fire the merch-shifter, a decision they would soon go back on by January of 2018 due to not being informed about the star being investigated for an alleged sexual assault.
