10 Times WWE C-Shows Were AMAZING

If, as was rumoured, Vince McMahon has never watched a single episode of Triple H's NXT, there is no chance in hell he sat in Gorilla early to take in the deranged events of NXT: Redemption.

The show was bonkers; a massively entertaining hybrid of sports entertainment parody and Survivor-style reality TV show, NXT: Redemption was essentially a lawless island from which its marooned performers were desperate to escape. To underscore the crazed, no-f*cks-given premise, a show that provided the losers with another chance to win was stolen by season 4 winner Johnny Curtis, who reinvented himself as 'Dirty Curty'.

Skewering main roster romance tropes, Curty paid no mind to the company's PG directive and portrayed himself as a seedy b*stard. He became fascinated with Maxine, and enjoyed the feeling of her "dirty fingernails" in his mouth. The material was gross, but something about his lip-licking, breathy delivery inspired the most repulsive of laughs. Essentially free to do whatever, Curty elected to be disgusting. There was something admirable about that. There was something admirable also about Maxine's contempt for and desperation to get the hell off the show, which Curty abetted by taking Matt Striker out with chloroform.

For putting a temporary end to Striker's inane babbling, and generally showing wonderful disregard for company guidelines, we salute you.
