10 Times WWE Championships Changed Hands Twice In The Same Night
9. SmackDown On February 15, 2011
Vacant to Dolph Ziggler to Edge - World Heavyweight Championship.
Not even Vacant can get away from a list like this!
With the World Heavyweight Championship stripped from Edge by his bitter ex-girlfriend Vickie Guerrero, it was time to crown a new leader for SmackDown. To take the title away from the Ultimate Opportunist Guerrero had framed him in an attack on Theodore Long - but all wasn’t as it seemed.
Instead of a tournament where the best could fight for the biggest prize in the game, Guerrero decided to simply hand the title to her latest squeeze: Dolph Ziggler. What a way to get your first ever World title. People loved it when Eric Bischoff gifted Triple H the strap in 2002, so it's a good thing they decided to do this again almost a decade later...
Minutes after the crowning ceremony, the couple were incensed when a returning Teddy didn’t arrange a six-man tag-team match playa, but instead made Ziggler put the belt on the line against a newly vindicated Edge. Before the night was over, the former champion once again held Big Gold, leaving the Show Off with one of the worst first reigns in history.
