10 Times WWE Did Exactly What The Wrestlers DIDN'T Want

5. The Shawn Michaels Vs Hulk Hogan Feud

It was inevitable for Hogan to politic his way into this list eventually, and here he is. Ironically, the victim of his string-pulling here is a man known for doing a fair bit of backstage manoeuvring himself.

In 2005, WWE finally got the chance to do a generation vs generation, legend vs icon dream feud; pitting the Immortal One against the Heartbreak Kid. In order to accommodate Hogan’s hunger for the spotlight, Michaels even complied with a heel turn. And absolutely smashed it while doing so.

Then came the sticking point. The duo were originally set for a trilogy of matches, with both trading wins before a rubber match. LOL! Yeah right, Hogan was never willing to lose. Citing an injury, Hulk used his legendary backstage powers to get the entire program changed to just the one match, with him going over of course.

If anyone needed proof of just how much this pissed off Shawn, you need only go back to their match at SummerSlam that year.

After battling Galactus and pinning Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania, I've taken a break from living in fantasy worlds, to focus on writing about them. I'm a comic book geek, a wrestling mark, a break dancer, and a scientist. One of those things may not be true.
