His embarrassing loss to Snooki and company on the grand stage of WrestleMania 27 did nothing to boost his stock as a Raw Superstar and it was clear it was going to take something special to get his career back on track. Thus, officials came to the conclusion that he needed a complete aesthetic makeover.

On the April 18, 2011 edition of Raw, Vickie Guerrero introduced the "new and improved" Ziggler, who was now sporing short brown hair. It wasn't a bad look for The Show-off, but it resembled his Spirit Squad persona too much, and it didn't help that his opponent that night was Evan Bourne, who could have easily posed as Ziggler's younger brother.

The new look didn't do much to revitalize his career, as it was the very next week he lost in clean and decisive fashion to Randy Orton. It's no secret that not even Ziggler was a fan of the "improved image," and it wasn't long after that he was back to bleaching his hair blonde and growing it out to the length it's currently at.
