10 Times WWE Fans Were Outraged At WrestleMania

4. Brock Lesnar Ends The Streak

When Brock Lesnar defeated the Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX, outrage did not permeate the air until a panicked, mass bargaining reconciliation yielded the conclusive answer: this had actually happened. There was no botch. Paul Heyman was that exceptional at selling the gravity of the result, Brock Lesnar was that cold-blooded with his f*ck-you smirk.

In a tremendous sell-job that spanned from performer to production truck, WWE orchestrated a scene of grief and its various stages so profoundly that, when the unthinkable happened, the New Orleans Superdome literally could not bear the thought.

This was a different tone of outrage that WWE would elicit at Royal Rumble 2015, or Hell In A Cell 2019. The fans were outraged at the decision - how could WWE bestow the greatest honour on a part-time mercenary? - but this manifested with an eerie "What now?" atmosphere. This hung in the air throughout the weird Divas match, which was rejected with weak-hearted cries of "Undertaker!"

Obviously, this was the talk of the toilet queue, which one very muscled, camo-covered man pushed through, saying "Who gives a sh*t?" before sobbing in a cubicle*.

*This actually happened lol, I was there.
