To boot, his conqueror on the night was a 50-year-old who hadn't been seen inside a wrestling ring for more than a decade. It seemed crazy that WWE heads would afford him of all people the opportunity to slay the Beast Incarnate, and crazier still that they'd have him do it in just 86 seconds.

This result - the manner of it - was so shocking that many fans wondered in the post-mortem whether Lesnar would ever be able to claw back his credibility. He has never looked so vulnerable, and unless Goldberg fancies a third WWE run at some point, he probably never will again.
