What goes around comes around, eh?

In a move that few could have honestly admitted to have seen coming, WWE's resident beacon of hope decided to turn his back on all those who had thrown their arms up with glee to the tune of 'YES!' and low-blowed his way back to the summit of SmackDown Live.

In terms of pulling the trigger, most fans had probably forgotten at this point that the weapon of 'heel Daniel Bryan' even existed to begin with. So, to see him showcase the desperate tactics of a man who simply wanted to be his own self and not the corrupted fan-advocate he'd become, was as shocking as it was liberating.

WWE Champion AJ Styles was the unfortunate victim on this fateful night in November 2018 and Bryan's controversial title victory would go on to fuel his excellent run as 'The New' Daniel Bryan, seeing off the challenges of Styles, Kevin Owens, Mustafa Ali and even surviving the Elimination Chamber match.

Such a sudden change of heart definitely caught the fans out and seeing Bryan lambast the capitalistic lifestyles of those in attendance was an image that no-one expected to see so soon after his triumphant return from forced-retirement.
