4. Eddie Guerrero Wins The WWE Championship (No Way Out, 2004)

Most fans would love to see their favourite wrestlers win the big one. Sadly, not everyone gets a shot at being the top star in the company and often our chosen idols have to settle for a spot lower down the card.

That statement looked as though it was going to apply to Eddie Guerrero for the majority of his career and he never seemed to earn the backing of those in the seats of power, despite being substantially over with every live-crowd he ever performed in front of.

At No Way Out 2004, that all changed.

Brock Lesnar was built like a brick sh*thouse and looked incapable of being usurped as the champ on SmackDown. Latino Heat on the other hand, used his wily intelligence to sneak his way into an unlikely main event clash with the eventual Beast Incarnate, off the back of a surprising victory in a 15-man mini-Royal Rumble on the blue brand.

It looked like a formality for The Next Big Thing.

My god, were we wrong.

Thanks to some welcome interference from Bill Goldberg, Guerrero was able to overcome the odds and claim his first WWE Championship, celebrating with both his adoring fans and his family.

Few moments have come close to replicating the genuine eruption of joy that came after the ref made the three-count that night and it proved to be another brilliant case of expert timing from Vince McMahon's company.
