10 Times WWE Saddled Wrestlers With HORRENDOUS Names

9. The Red Rootser

Terry Taylor won 28 championship titles across a 14 year in-ring career, wrestling and later working backstage in about every promotion you could care to name. He can have had few misfortunes greater than being introduced to WWE audiences as “The Red Rooster”, though.

No one, surely, can have imagined that this was going to work. Taylor must have done something to annoy Vince or another top dog, because this was a burial before he had even entered the ring for his first match. The gimmick suits the name, at least - The Red Rooster was dressed as, essentially, a red rooster, complete with a little dyed tuft of hair on the top of Taylor’s head. Someone no doubt got a kick out of this, but it wasn’t Terry Taylor.

Adding injury to insult, The Red Rooster barely got the opportunity to change McMahon’s mind with his in-ring nous, badly damaging his knee in a SummerSlam clash against Mr Perfect, which sidelined him right out of the gate. He then enjoyed a two minute stint in the 1990 Royal Rumble, before departing the company in June of that year. At least his was a quick death.
