10 Times WWE Threw Their Champion Under The Bus

Wrestlemania 31 was one of the most enjoyable 'Mania for years - both in terms of sheer entertainment, and - the outcome of Sting vs Triple H not withstanding - one of the most satisfying from a booking point-of-view. Crucially, the match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship didn't disappoint. WWE managed to get the belt off of The Anomaly without making him look any less of a beast, while Roman Reigns, the recipient of so much disdain over his highly debatable readiness for such a spot at the Show Of Shows, looked strong despite defeat. Seth Rollins cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase was an exhilarating curveball, and a perfect way to crown a new WWE Champion. Satisfying indeed. WWE don't always get it right, however. Every now and then, there are booking decisions that leave us with our heads in our hands. It's usually bad enough on the occasions when the WWE Champion and title are not involved, but when they are, it tends to leave us wondering why they would treat their own championship as an afterthought, and why they would put said championship on a guy they are not willing to back. Champions have been made to look weak, have had their momentum killed, and in some of the more extreme cases, been left to look like complete laughing stocks.
