10 Times WWE Tried To Force Historic Moments

1. The End Of The Streak

Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania XXX victory over The Undertaker stands as one of the most shocking moments in the show's history.

Nobody foresaw ‘The Beast Incarnate’ snapping the legendary Streak that night, but while the result succeeded in generating a tremendous amount of buzz for the company, it brought no long-term benefits.

Brock was pushed to the stars, but he was already among WWE’s biggest names anyway, and could have easily reached that level without shattering the Streak. The appeal of seeing the previously undefeated ‘Deadman’ perform at WrestleMania was all but gone, meanwhile, robbing the card of one of its annual highlights - though ‘Taker’s physical decline also played a role in this.

Much like The Undertaker’s last match against Roman Reigns, WM XXX felt like a needless downer. There was no real need for ‘Taker’s run to conclude in such a dismal manner, but if the company absolutely had to bring it to an end, they should’ve used the rub to benefit a younger, full-time performer, or saved it for Undertaker’s retirement match.

Instead, we got one of ‘Mania’s most maligned booking decisions, and a “historic moment” that had everybody scratching their head.
