10 Times WWE Tried To Force Historic Moments

Bayley’s main roster career has been one misstep after another, but while this current point in time sees her at her lowest ebb on Raw, the slide started many months ago. Pulling the trigger on her Raw Women’s Title victory too early did more damage to her character than anything else up to that point, and in forcing Bayley’s big, career-defining moment ahead of schedule, WWE effectively cost her a bigger one later down the line.

The reason Bayley became so popular in the first place was because WWE took their time with her. Her NXT Women’s Title win came at the end of a long, gruelling struggle that saw her knocked down several times, only to come back stronger on each occasion. It unfolded over a number of years, and by the time she’d unseated Sasha Banks, Bayley was easily the brand’s most popular wrestler.

WWE tried to recreate this underdog tale on the main roster, but the timeframe was far too short, and her “big moment” felt like it came out of nowhere. The outcome would’ve felt a lot more satisfying had it been saved for WrestleMania - but WWE jumped the gun, producing an underwhelming outcome in the process.
