10 Times WWE Tried To Present Someone As A Credible Threat (And Failed Miserably)
1. Bray Wyatt (Twice!)
Bray Wyatt must have been an absolute *rsehole in another life.
After breaking out onto the main roster in 2013, Wyatt and his Wyatt family felt like the fresh new blood which the company were in dire need of in the midst of one of their most barren creative periods. His manic, distinctly fearsome presence shook up the status quo and it wasn't long before he was tangling with the likes of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and John Cena.
However, that last name proved to be the bridge too far for Wyatt and after losing to Super Cena at 'Mania XXX, his aura as 'The Eater of Worlds' was tarnished.
Wyatt's fear factor had gone and fans began to refuse to invest in his nonsensical ramblings which once captivated them. This all led to a forced exile off the back of a torrid WWE title run and 'Deleters of Worlds' partnership with Matt Hardy.
As a newly reborn kid's TV show host/'Fiend', Wyatt then revitalised himself (and the weekly television product) in 2019 and became the hottest property in the company, disposing of legends and top stars like Finn Bálor with ease.
A Universal title eventually came into his possession - off the back of an ill advised Hell in a Cell massacre - and the world was once again at the exquisite performer's feet. Then, big bald Bill Goldberg turned up to spear his way through the party at Super Showdown 2020 and Wyatt was once again left to ponder what he did to deserve such a blatant murdering of his credibility.
Redemption beckons at 'Mania 36 vs. Cena, but, it may be too little too late for this one-time jolt of lightning in a bottle and his days as a credible threat may be over once and for all.
