10 Times WWE Tried To Repeat History With The Undertaker

8. Every Undertaker And Kane Rivalry

Okay maybe not every Undertaker and Kane rivalry has followed the same formula. There was that mini-revival one in 1998 in which the increasingly evil Undertaker turned on a Kane that was slowly becoming more self-aware (and spawned their back-and-forth hatred for each other in '99) but that aside, every Undertaker and Kane rivalry has followed the same formula.

As far as back as 'The Big Red Machine's debut, the seven-foot monster has been attacking his brother when he least expects it. He showed up in the first Hell In A Cell match and Tombstoned him. He then unexpectedly turned on him in January '98 after they had formed a brief alliance. He did the exact same in 2000. He attacked him and buried him alive in 2003 for no reason whatsoever. And finally, in 2010, he attacked him and put him in a vegetative state while accusing everyone else.

After Kane's betrayal, the Big Red Monster usually achieves early dominance over his brother before 'Taker finds a way to overcome him in the end. Their final feud in 2010, however, subverted this formula by following it to a tee and still having Kane triumph.

Each of the Brothers of Destruction's feuds have been unique and enjoyable in their own way, but almost all of them found new ways to tell the exact same story - and the truth is that none of them came close to the first.
