10 Times WWE Was Totally Better Than Your Fantasy Booking
1. What To Do With The Undertaker
Your Fantasy Booking:
Retire him at WrestleMania, at which he puts over Finn Bálor's Demon character as the next great supernatural force. Or Bray Wyatt. Or Aleister Black. Or perhaps Sting. In any event, it is imperative that the Undertaker wrestle a match against a spooky-ish character because the entrances and challenges and stare-downs would be epic, and they would be. The match graphics alone would be the t*ts - but then what? Does 'Taker immolate himself, and does the man who defeats him carry his ashes around in an urn to symbolise the succession? Is this how a legacy three decades long is transferred?
WWE's Real Booking:
The Undertaker cannot put anybody over effectively because his singles matches stink, and they're allowed to stink, because he's the f*cking Undertaker. WWE, recognising this (and the humiliation that was Super ShowDown), atoned for that disaster by positioning him to maximise his effectiveness: in a superb, heated, big-time Extreme Rules match with Roman Reigns opposite Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre.
This is the way the Undertaker comes full circle: the performer who got over as a character using smoke and mirrors to mask his physical decline.
