10 Times WWE Was Totally Better Than Your Fantasy Booking

7. The Saha Banks Vs. Bayley Non-Feud Of 2018

Your Fantasy Booking:

Do "something" with the lingering tension between Sasha Banks and Bayley, as opposed to either "nothing", or "something" that retconned itself every week. Sasha and Bayley essentially each played the role of John Truckasaurus for months on end. Those crazy women didn't know whether to fight or make up! Guess it all depended on the time of the month, huh gang? This was such ineffectual, non-storytelling than any alternative was preferable to it. Literally anything remotely related to conflict or the usual means in which conflict is intensified or resolved, instead of intensified and resolved, every week.

WWE's Real Booking:

"It's all worked out in the end!" is hardly a celebration of WWE's long-term booking, but hey, at least it worked out: Sasha's hiatus and the need to reemphasise what has always worked about the women's division has converged to create the heel double act that has refreshed each act in a way that is congruous to their chemistry and established relationship. It's an organic development - why wouldn't they snap, in the face of Sasha's diminished profile? - and thus resonates as something as credible as it is entertaining.

And they'd have suffered through crowd exhaustion, as so many matches did, were it to have made WrestleMania 35.
