10 Times WWE Wrestlers Got Burnt To A Crisp
9. The Undertaker's Dead Parents & Kane (Unforgiven: In Your House - 1998)
After the Royal Rumble, the feud between 'The Brothers of Destruction' stayed centred around fire. And murder. Burning someone alive definitely qualified as a homicide.
One memorable moment took place at Unforgiven: In Your House, but on the way to the PPV, there was another firey instance that's often forgotten about.
Paul Bearer and Kane were seen meddling around the gravesites of 'Taker's parents prior to the PPV. Before the segment ended, the two lit the sites on fire. A week before Unforgiven, 'The Phenom' returned to the graves to find they were empty. Bearer and Kane had possession of both coffins, which they then lit on fire.
In hindsight, the concept of 'Pooh Bear' and 'The Devil's Favorite Demon' stealing corpses and setting them ablaze was far more frightening than the actual inferno match. While part of the match's appeal was that it promised a 20x20 hellscape, what unfolded was more of an amber than a conflagration.
As a 'first-ever' for WWE diehards, the flames surrounding the ring made for quite the visual. However, rather than the expected graphic ending, fans instead witnessed Kane's clothed (and gloved) arm burning rather suspiciously until he reached the top of the ramp, where he then sprinted backstage to be extinguished. It was essentially an old lighter fluid parlour trick, but given that this match was new and consisted of the kind of twisted sh*t the late-90s loved, it made for a classic nonetheless.
