10 Times You Didn't Realise Wrestlers Were Saying 'Goodbye'

Lita was surely thrilled to be sharing the ring in competitive matches with Chyna, and the pair did deliver a decent outing on the undercard at Judgment Day 2001. However, the reigning Women's Champ was anything but delighted to be there. Chyna reportedly viewed the women's division work as a step down from what she'd been doing previously.

All of those smiles as Women's Champion? Put on. There was no pride in being titleholder for the '9th Wonder'. Behind the scenes, her life was a mess too. Ex-lover Triple H was moving on to Stephanie McMahon, and that put Chyna in a pretty awkward position. Feeling unwanted and totally disillusioned, she vanished from screens.

Chyna didn't actually leave the WWF until November, but May's Judgment Day match proved to be her final one under contract. That's a shame, not least because it came as a shocker to those enjoying her dominant run in the women's game.

This revolutionary seemed to have so much more to offer. The McMahon family disagreed.

Side note: Chyna did work a TNA one-off in 2011, but she wasn't anything close to a wrestling full-timer by that point. Sadly, she'd never get the chance to say goodbye or thank her WWE fans before passing away in 2016.
