9. PAC = “Mighty Mouse”

Meanwhile, McMahon fancied sticking a mask on Neville - not because he was "ugly", but because he'd always wanted a "Mighty Mouse"-like superhero character who roared back against the odds. Apparently, Vince thought current AEW star PAC would be bloody perfect for the role.

It didn't end up airing though.

Granted, this is nothing new. Prichard (there's that name again) once said on his podcast that McMahon coveted such a character and had thought about bunging it on a number of workers over the years. Neville was his latest obsession in 2015-2016, and the repackage job almost happened before Nev jumped up from NXT to WWE's main roster.

Revisit his earliest days in the big time and you'll see a high-flyer who's very-much cast as an underdog hero. WWE didn't go quite as far as calling him "Mighty Mouse", but they did flirt with some superhero-like vibes for a while before Vince's whims kicked in and he moved onto something else.
