10 Totally Insane Wrestling Crowd Moments

1. CM Punk Hits Fan On WWE RAW

CM Punk always seemed to be in such a foul mood after he turned heel in 2012.

It was understandable; the man was mentally unwell and his problems were exacerbated working under conditions that are grim, futile and torturous to begin with.

Much of this was great character work, but he barely had to play the role of the man raging against the machine by that point. Misery seemed to leak out of him. He referred to the new three-hour Raw shows as "dismal" as reigning WWE Champion and absolutely berated a fan one year later, as a babyface, as a fatso who didn't have the balls to fight him.

Back in 2012, when booked to run away from Vince McMahon - a dire look for the top heel, which would have hardly helped his mood - he retreated into the crowd. The members of the audience stood behind him overstepped the boundary. Several attempted to touch him. The victim of the strike, as inferred from this video, seemed to want to get a piece of the star slyly as he put his glasses on. Punk received it as a potential threat and put him down.

Nothing too wild in and of itself - longtime fans have seen worse - but Punk's profile and the era in which this unfolded made for a wild and controversial moment.
