6. The WrestleMania Sign Catches Fire At The 2022 Royal Rumble

At the 2022 Royal Rumble, the WrestleMania sign caught fire as Becky Lynch tried to work Doudrop in what was a solid match that nobody paid attention to. They were too busy trying not to get incinerated.

To WWE's credit, they were lightning quick to evacuate the section affected, and nobody was close to being harmed. It's still wild that the thing caught fire again deeper into the show. It was a risk - clearly - but the f*cker wasn't going to point at itself, was it?

It was poetic in a way.

If a gigantic star-inspired shape had an anus, that's where the fire started. It literally looked as though WrestleMania had sh*t the bed, just as the build did before it was salvaged by the dual impossible moments of Cody's jump and Steve Austin's return.

It was also poetic because the Rumble itself was dismal.

The scene almost reflected the disaster that was the show, with its sh*tty finishes, unremittingly predictable Brock Lesnar business, and the fact that WWE's terrible approach to music these days meant that they contrived to ruin the immortal "Rumble pop" because nobody knew who anyone was.
