For those looking for an example of Forrest Griffin's toughness, you need look no further than the final of The Ultimate Fighter's debut season. There, against Stephan Bonnar, Griffin - and Bonnar, to be fair - put on one of the most brutal, tiring, and tough fights that UFC fans have ever seen.

That fight has often been cited by Dana White as being the most important fight in the history of UFC, many fans and fighters regard it as the greatest fight ever, and it can rightly be stated that Griffin vs. Bonnar was massive in piercing the mainstream markets for UFC.

While that battle cemented Forrest Griffin as one of the toughest guys in the game, the Ohio-born fighter only added further to that reputation from fight to fight - even if those fights didn't always go to plan for Griffin.

A former UFC Lightweight Champion who has wins over Tito Ortiz, Chael Sonnen, Mauricio Rua, Quinton Jackson, and Rich Franklin, Forrest raised the bar on what it means to be tough.
