10 Toughest Wrestling Tag Teams Of All Time

2. The Road Warriors

Animal and Hawk teamed together for the better part of 20 years. Beginning their careers together in 1982 as the Road Warriors in Georgia Championship Wrestling, work out buddies from Minnesota Michael Hegstrand (Hawk) and Joseph Laurinitis (Animal) were the original power team in professional wrestling. While there were a few incarnations over the years, Animal and Hawk are the focus of this article, no offense to Droz and Kensuke Sasake. Winning titles in the NWA, WWE, AWA and All Japan the Road Warriors were always the main draw wherever they were. Throughout the 80's and early 90's no team was more over with wrestling fans than the Road Warriors. In many ways, The Road Warriors were the Hulk Hogan of tag teams, teams were pulled together and fed to the Warriors for the better part of the decade. The Brain Busters, Steiners, Powers of Pain, Varsity Club, Samoan Swat Team, Nasty Boys, Demolition and Money Inc. all came saw and were conquered by the Legion of Doom. The Road Warriors were the most dominant tag team in wrestling history. With an iconic look, over powering physiques, face paint, shoulder pads and a great catch phrase 'ugggggggghhhh what a russsssshhhhh' the Warriors were the biggest tag team draw of the 1980s. Their dominating style, infamous no selling and impressive finisher (The Doomsday Device) left an imprint on both the fans and wrestling history.
