10 Trades WWE & AEW Need To Make In 2023

AEW stars who should pledge allegiance to Triple H's revolution and WWE stars going #AllElite.

Is it time for some major AEW players to look at Vince McMahon's retirement as a golden ticket to the top in WWE? Triple H calls the shots now, and that could be very interesting indeed to some currently wondering what the future holds for them over on Tony Khan's side.

Speaking of that, maybe 2023 provides the perfect opportunity for those bored of WWE life to see what becoming #AllElite is like. Stranger things have happened; Vince worked a match then retired, Steve Austin wrestled, Chris Jericho is ROH World Champion - yep, 2022 has been a bizarre one.

Could 2023 be even more so?!

There's a generous mix of heavy hitters and promising prospects on this list. Some jumps exist for purely selfish reasons (this writer wants to see them happen, basically), whereas others seem like realistic next steps for those either coming to the end of their careers or looking to shake things up in the middle of it.

Each company gets five picks apiece. So, who's going from Tony to Trips and vice versa over the coming 12 month span of rasslin' madness?

10. Dustin Rhodes To WWE

Admit it, you weren't expecting this guy first (if at all).

Stick with it though. Dustin Rhodes is happy in AEW, but that's not the argument here; nobody's suggesting that Tony Khan has been anything other than great for Dustin, and yet...the WWE Hall Of Fame surely beckons someday. To get a spot in that, Rhodes will probs have to return "home".

One last whirl for the Goldust character seems unnecessary, but don't rule that out either. Goldie was one of Triple H's first major feuds in the old WWF days, so 'The Game' likely has a healthy amount of affection for the gimmick. Provided Dustin gets to do his HOF speech makeup free, then a cameo here or there under the paints wouldn't hurt.

Rhodes' brother Cody is also nailed-on to bag a run as WWE World Champ next year too, and it'd be amazing if Dustin was there for a big ol' hug/tearful tribute to their father Dusty. This simply needs to happen in 2023.
