10 Trades WWE & AEW Need To Make

5. Chad Gable To AEW

Aleister Black AEW

Put Chad Gable in any other pro wrestling promotion on the planet and you'd have yourself a star. A genuine wrestling genius, Gable has everything it takes to become a major player in the industry. His in-ring skills are elite-level, he has a weird charisma that is entirely his own, and he is just about as credible as a professional wrestler can be. He has it all.

Well, all except size. The old 'Vince McMahon Only Likes Jacked-Up Dudes' theory has been disproved time and time again, but it is undeniable that height will always afford a performer more opportunities in WWE. The only thing that Chad Gable doesn't have is height. Barring the lightning strike of another Daniel Bryan-style swell of popularity, Gable will never progress beyond his current frustrating level in WWE.

This plainly isn't true in AEW, a promotion that focuses more on strengths than weaknesses. A move to AEW could see Gable become the human suplex machine that he so plainly can be, a powderkeg of technique and strength, out-wrestling anyone foolish enough to cross his path. Better yet, get him to NJPW.

Chad Gable's career should be defined by suplexes and submissions. In WWE, he will always be defined by his (lack of) height.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
