As we make our way to the end of this list, you may have noticed that the majority of game-changing events present throughout UFC's history have involved records being broken. This was always going to be the case, as these figures are one of the only universal methods of measuring your success and evolution as a company.

So, with that in mind, what better way to round out this trip down memory lane than with the card that holds the title for most PPV buys in UFC history.

We're talking of course, about Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor's legendary clash for the Lightweight title at UFC 229.

With the bad blood threatening to spill over throughout the build-up, the two icons of the division both wanted to take each other's heads off and if their ridiculous press conference/parking lot antics were anything to go by, fans knew that they could not miss this clash…

...and it looked like not many did.

Completely blowing the previous record of 1,600,000 buys - which McGregor and Nate Diaz had been responsible for two years earlier - out of the water, the event would earn an unprecedented 2,400,000 buys.

Not even the volatile actions of both 'The Eagle' and 'Mystic Mac' post-fight could take the shine off of Dana White's company finally clearing the two million PPV buys-mark. With a gluttony of super-fights being lined up for 2020, you have to imagine that the company has already set their eyes on breaching 3,000,000 PPV buys.

UFC 1's 86,000 buys way back in 1993 seems like ancient history now, but it's a timely reminder of just how far Dana White's company has come in the subsequent 26 years.
